Apply consent type to tags

Now we need to determine what type of consent the tags will need to be triggered. You can add 5 types of cookies, but we will mainly use ad_storage (Advertising Cookies) and analytics_storage (Analytical Cookies).

  • ad_storage: Concerns elements related to targeted advertising, remarketing and any other similar element.
  • analytics_storage: Concerns the accumulation of data for analysis purposes.

When we are unsure if the tag should belong to one or the other, it is better to apply both types of consent rather than choosing only one. To apply consent to tags:

  1. In your workspace, go to the Tags section and click on the shield with a check mark in the top right.
  2. Check all the tags with integrated consent. Click on the shield with a cog in the top right, then select "No additional consent required".
  3. Tags that do not have built-in consent will need to be configured manually. Check them individually and click on the same shield. Depending on the criteria defined above, apply ad_storage and/or analytics_storage. For example, a script like Clarity will only be Analytics, while scripts like LinkedIn Ads or Facebook Ads will be both.
